Hey everyone! Here's a photo of a Damselfly (platycnemis pennipes) male last weekend just outside Loviisa in Finland, where I spent the weekend with family and friends. It is taken in the evening sunlight to get the more golden colours. It was pretty hard to capture these Damselflies as they are very shy and the reefs were swaying in the wind (thus the title), but I was quite pleased with this one nevertheless. Added soft vignetting and frame in PS.

Print available.

Info: Canon EOS 20D | Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro | ISO200 | f/2.8 | 1/1250secs

Hope you like it. Comments and critiques are welcomed.

That is just amazing. I know how hard it is to take pictures of dragon flies and the like. Damselflies sit for maybe half of a millisecond.

I love the colours of the damsel and the background that contrasts so beautifully.

[Your work always has beautiful clarity and colours. Always.]
